1. Who We Are

FDH Platform ("we", "us", "our") operates an online marketplace connecting employers with Foreign Domestic Helpers in Hong Kong. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data We Collect

• Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), role
• Profile data (FDH): date of birth, nationality, photo, documents, skills, languages, work history
• Profile data (Employer): contact name, company name, phone, HK district
• Usage data: pages visited, search queries, application history
• Payment data: subscription tier; card details are processed by Stripe and never stored by us
• Communication data: messages exchanged on the Platform

3. How We Use Your Data

• To operate and improve the Platform
• To match FDHs with suitable employers
• To process payments and subscriptions
• To send transactional emails (OTP, application updates, interview reminders)
• To comply with legal obligations under Hong Kong law

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share it with:

• Stripe / PayPal: for payment processing
• Resend / email providers: for transactional emails
• Cloudinary: for photo and document storage
• Legal authorities: if required by Hong Kong law

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records for 7 years).

6. Your Rights

Under PDPO and GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict certain processing

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics 4) may be used with your consent.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, bcrypt password hashing, and signed Cloudinary URLs. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication when available.
